Where are Gary Danielson, Brad Nessler for SEC on CBS’s Alabama-Ole Miss broadcast?

If you are confused by the voices on you SEC on CBS broadcast during Alabama’s home game against Ole Miss, you probably aren’t alone.

For better or worse, depending on your perspective, the voices of Brad Nessler and Gary Danielson are missing from their usual SEC on CBS 2:30 p.m. time slot.

Fear not, Danielson and Nessler are on the call of Saturday night’s Iowa-Penn State matchup, a CBS’ primetime game.

The change is due to CBS’ new Big Ten media rights deal, which means the end of SEC coverage as it phases Big Ten coverage until the SEC agreement ends.

As a result, Tom McCarthy, Ross Tucker, and Jason McCourty will be in the booth for the Crimson Tide vs. Rebels game.

Starting in 2024, SEC games will move to ABC and ESPN.

“We worked with the league for a prime time exposure,” CBS Executive Vice President of Programming Dan Weinberg said at Big Ten Media Days in July, per On3. “That one, that’s the White Out game — Iowa and Penn State. That’ll be Sept. 23. Great atmosphere, one of the signature games of the year in terms of the scene. And obviously two very, very good teams this year, so it’ll be an impactful game, as well. We’re excited about that.”
